Meet Your Myofunctional Therapist
Quincey M. Wood,
RDH, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist
While in dental hygiene school, Quincey heard a lecture about sleep apnea and dentistry and knew she wanted to learn more about airway function in order to help her patients with dysfunctions she encountered often in the dental setting. After graduating dental hygiene school in 2019, she began learning as much as she could about airway dentistry and completed many CE courses surrounding the topic. Quincey obtained her Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist certification in May 2024 and is actively working toward becoming and IAOM Certified Orofacial Myologist. Quincey is proud to be a member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology, a Certified MyoMunchee Practitioner, a member of the MyoMentor MMT program, and a member of the ADHA.
The stimulus for becoming a myofunctional therapist was her greatest love: her three daughters. After struggling to find accessible, functional providers for orofacial dysfunctions she noted in her own children, Quincey decided to become one herself. A native of Hiawassee, she is passionate about helping others in the area access well-trained providers. When she isn’t practicing myofunctional therapy, you can find Quincey spending time outdoors with her husband and daughters, homeschooling, serving in her church, and getting away to the beach as often as possible.
